So often we set goals for ourselves and don't have the map, tools or capacity to obtain those goals and experience true success! It can be so discouraging to feel as though you are failing before you start. Let's face it; you will never find your way, if you are wandering in the dark. And worse; you will likely encounter a few bumps and bruises in your wandering.

One day it is "BAD" to eat carbs and the next, we hear we aren't eating enough? It's understandable that you would want to give up before you start a health journey. Let's go back to the basics. Not food basics, but rather your individual desire that is driving you to what you ultimately want. The hard part is you actually have to be honest enough to check your motives.


Why get healthy? Look better? Feel better? Gain energy? Decrease body aches? Better sleep? Combat high blood pressure? Get control over Diabetes? Run your first 5K? Set an example for your family? There are hundreds more! Your best advocate must first be YOU! Having a health coach will give you a partner to explore what is the best route. Not just on the surface of the map to success, but your deepest desires for change and explore some of those side streets.


I have to be honest here. In the past, when I struggled with my weight, I just wanted to be thin. I was ready to take any pill or shake to just make it happen. Well guess what; it didn't work long term and I never got to that place where I felt I had made it to the top of the mountain of total health and fitness. You know that place where you imagine your wedding day and you are the hottest thing anyone has ever seen. Or your class reunion when you walk in and know that you can still fit into that dress you wore in your senior picture. The problem with this mindset is that you are thinking WAY TOO SMALL (and I don't mean your size)!! This is your journey, so why are you selling yourself short? I used to tell myself anything to get out of exercise, disipline or true change. The thought of giving up some of the unhealthy habits was scary. It was MY normal, but deep down I knew that there is work in change.


As your coach, I want to walk through these mindsets. What language have you been believing about yourself? Is it something someone has told you either through off handed comments or directly about your ability for success? Is there an experience that altered your perception of who you are and what you can be? Are you ready to take ownership of the lies you have been told and the lies you tell yourself. It starts when you stop believing all of them.

Let's set a new language into motion and experience true health! You will be amazed at how making small adjustments in emotional health will then create momentum in spiritual health which then will blow the ceiling off the limitations you have been experiencing in our physical health.
